My favorite was "Haunted" I think because of the surprise and feeling it left. I love the effect it had on me, in some ways it affected me the same way the movie "Sixth Sense" did the first time I saw it.My Review

All the stories I felt had a structure that showed a character arc. Shaping and structuring can be difficult in a short story were words are limited, and all these author's did a good job with that.
I enjoyed this anthology when I read it in 2016, and I enjoyed it even more when I read it this fall. It had a diverse collection of alternate realities. Melanie Schulz's story "Haunted" is one I'll remember for a long time. The structure of the story was brilliant. "WIN" by Sylvia Ney warmed this teacher's heart. There was something original and intriguing in each of the stories.
I haven't gotten around to posting my review yet and want to answer the questions after I've done that, but I just wanted to pop in and say thanks to all who've shared their thoughts on these selections. I really enjoy reading about how others react to stories I've read, whether they liked it or not. I love talking about books and sharing this experience with others.
I finally got around to writing my review if anyone is interested: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...1. I felt like WIN and Folding in Life and Death were the best examples of character ARC in the collection, but feel that they all displayed some level of development for the characters.
2. Alternate/diverse reality is used in so many ways throughout this collection, some more subtle than others, but all very clever.
3. I have no idea, but since it made me think of Dexter perhaps the author liked that or some other serial killer character or study. Oddly enough, I'm not into serial killers real or fiction, but I like Dexter and I liked the Mirror People.
