Hi everyone,

We will start discussions on our Fall book selections starting September 20th. The first of our Fall book selections is "Once There Were Wolves" by Charlotte McConaghy author of the best-selling book "Migrations."

The setting of this story is in the Scottish Highlands. Twin sisters Inti and Aggie Flynn along with a team of biologists attempt to reintroduce gray wolves back into the Highlands. While sisters have a goal of saving the wolves, they are also trying to save themselves and and secrets that were left behind in Alaska or so they thought.

Inti attempts to trust after the damage she has endured and seen to the animals. When a farmer is discovered dead, the guilt is placed on the wolves and their protection is in danger. Inti steps forward to protect them from this blame and try and discover who is to blame for the farmer's death.

Are her beloved wolves to blame? Is it someone else and not the animals? Can Inti let go of her fears to heal while trying to handle this intense situation in the wild? Will Inti be able to save the wolves? What defines an enemy in survival? Who deserves to live? Animals or humans? Can there be room for both to co-exist? Can human selfishness be the final destruction of animal existence once and for all. Can we be our own personal enemy? We will find out together if you join us for this Fall read.

I will open discussions starting September 20th, labeled by Chapter. There is no pressure to read quickly. Join in any chapter discussion when you are ready.

Please invite others to join us. Everyone is welcome. We appreciate the support even if you are not reading with us at this time. If you are not joining us for this book selection, let us know what you are reading.

Have a good day.

Sincerely,

-Donna
