Review: My standards have improved since I first read this but I still liked it. I wish Kim Dare was still publishing in this series because I like the promise of the worldbuilding that could have been fleshed out a little better.

Review: This was a cute addition to the series. Actually my favorite of the series overall. I was in the mood for a good redemption story featuring romance and this book did have that. I wish, though, that Henry had just a bit more emotional warring with himself to better show his change. There was only a few times where he purposefully withheld the anger he that got him such a bad reputation. Those instances were nice in how they showed his change. Those few small times showed his redemption the best.

As a team select a year prior to 2018 and then read at least 750 pages in books initially published in the selected year. For this task use the initial publication date. If there is a date listed at the top of the editions page - use it! Otherwise, I will be looking for the earliest dated English language edition regardless of format for the qualification. Remember to use the first edition Kindle page count.
We didn't vote on this one.We are all on in different times and makes voting hard.
What do you all think about using 2017? It's the newest year prior to 2018, and has tons of options. Just need 150 pages or more.
If you all want to do a different year, what do you wanna do?
Since I'm going to bed, I'm gonna start a book from 2017 tomorrow, and I'll change if you all want to do an earlier year. I won't be able to check the thread until after I get off work.

I'm a little afraid. I read book 1, so that I could read book 2 for the other challenge, and I wasn't all that impressed. I'm hoping book 2 is better. If not, I'm deleting the rest of the series off my tbr.
Okay, fine. cover lust for book 6 drew me in, and I can't read out of order. I really hope book 2 is better or I'll never make it to book 6.

Review: I enjoyed this and it was easy to get through but not especially memorable. The worldbuilding was iffy to me (supposedly an alt-fantasy universe but used modern lingo like bottom/top and the like) and the romance was resolved a tad too early to really let myself be invested in it. Not a bad way to spend a few hours though.

I’m still abroad and lacking reading time but I found a 2017 book and started it. I should be done in a few days when I have a series of flights to read on.

I do believe this is my first book by this author. I enjoyed it quite a bit. The setting, the characters, the drama. Overall some of it was too flowery for such a rough time period and lifestyle but it’s ultimately a feel-good romance book so it has to have some of that. I am curious to know if we reader did indeed meet the new captain of the Damned Manta at some point. While it was predictable I still love where they managed to find their retirement and freedom, especially since they so thoroughly reclaimed the land by populating it with new, open-minded, friends as their fellow settlers. They turned a shattered remains into a true community.

Review: Ok, I enjoyed this more than I expected. While other reviewers complained about the reality tv show getting in the way, I kinda liked it. They fell for each other even with all of that chaos around them. I gotta admit I did kinda like John, even if he was as much as a butthead as the other producers, he was better at hiding it. Their characters were fairly well done, and the setting sure led to some humor as the poor suitors were tortured. (Also I kinda wish this was a series because I could’ve gone for a book about Chad, and of course a book about poor tortured Ben too….)

Review: Better than I remember but still not nearly as good as K.J. Charles' later works. I do love the dynamic between Lucien and Stephen and I love the practitioner world; I hope she one days writes another story in this universe.

I will be finishing my book today. In five or so hours.
Hope we can get a new category today or tomorrow.I'm going on vacation Tuesday. You'd think I could read more, but no. It's our anniversary staycation. So it's cuddle time 24/7. We'll watch movies. Maybe go to town and shop. But don't foresee much reading time. I hope to get the next category read before I start the staycation.

Review: Oh this series is among the slightly darker and twisted. Bad guys attacking kids! Part way through I was sure this wouldn’t be the end of the human terrorist organization’s leader, and that more terror would befall the future books. Of course more terror will come in the future books but I am glad the meticulous but half crazed leader won’t be part of it. Probably have to take a break between volumes again and fill the gap with some lighter and happier books.
I've just been burning the candle at both ends recently :0 I've been working on professional certifications in my free time recently and then when I actually have time to read for leisure it's been a struggle actually focus.
