Just FYI, I remember a team really liking some they found from the 70s I believe. It was a dreaded task, but they ended up liking the books.

This is my fall back for decades published.
0. Each teammate reads a book initially published in a fall month, teams decide which month. As a team select a fall month. Fall this year is from September 22 through December 21 - so you may select September, October, November or December, then everyone reads a book initially published in the selected month of any year. For this task, use the initial publication date. If there is a date listed at the top of the editions page - use it! Otherwise I will be looking for the earliest dated English language edition regardless of format for the qualification. Please include the selected month in your completion posts.
So what month do we all want to do?
None of the 3 books I had planned out qualify, so I just got done doing a quick search and found an option for all 4 months....so I'm down with November.I think Red will be by soon, to see what she thinks.
Weird, normally being Pacific time, I'm used to being the last to know...this time I was primed and waiting for the call.
Emeli is probably in bed for the night. I would be, I don't stay up late. I work so early, my bedtime is early.
Yep, Red is here. I have no life.Darn I was hoping one I started this morning would work but alas, June. And the book I was thinking about reading next: March! Lol. You guys decide and I’ll make it work. Though…maybe not December? I’m not ready to read holidays books yet (I say that and then I’ll end reading a holidays book anyways).
My vote is we settle on November, since our planned books don't fit anyhow.I'll go with anything, but I hope we can agree quickly on these, so we can spend more time reading.
I need this November book ASAP for a different challenge so I'm going to read that first, but if a different month is chosen between you three I can squeeze that in later :)

I did love this book.
I don't like John.
I've yet to warm up to him.
It's been a really long time since I read the first book. I don't remember how I felt about him last book. I disliked him in this one.

Typo - November not September for published date.
I found one that works for this AND like three other challenges I’m doing so I’ll be reading that soon. Probably can be done with it tomorrow evening.

Exchange of Hearts by N.R. Walker

4* - This book rather rushed into the romance and I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop but it actually stayed rather light hearted. The focus was not on the romance, but on Harrison’s growing into himself and finally bonding with his family because the way Levi believed in him. Since I usually read book that are a little more focused on the romance than the family acceptance this one hit me. I got a lil bit choked up reading near the end. I certainly recommend for others who haven’t already read it and enjoy new adult contemporary M/M.

Review: Really good. A great capstone to the first Hazard and Sommerset series that ties together the threads from the first five books. It was way darker than I expected which is saying something given that the earlier books were hardly sunshine and roses. I will definitely continue on to the spin-off series. I especially want to read the short story collection; It would be nice to see these two being in love when no one is actively trying to murder them.

Crap, I was hoping we'd have more time. But at least we can cross it off the list.
I think we were all said okay to Sam Burns?
I'll see what I've got when I get home from work. I know I have a couple.

Review: Really cute! I love alien romances and I've been wanting another MM series with the "Mars Needs Women" (or...men, rather) trope. The world building is decent and I'm curious to see how the overarching plotline progresses. The core romance in this one was a bit insta- for my preference BUT the threads left for the romances in the next books have definitely peaked my interest. This is a series I am excited to continue.
Just looking into that same series task.Did we agree to Dead Speak?
We all have to read a different book in the series.
Red Really has read book 1,
I've read a bunch.
If we have some downtime between tasks, maybe think about reading a book in the series, so that someone doesn't have to read 3 books to make it to book 3, or read the series out of order.
Some people don't care, but it drives me crazy to start a series in the middle.
I agree to Dead Speak, but I haven’t read book 1 yet. Must’ve clicked the wrong thing when trying to add to my want to read shelf. I was hoping I could read a few of the earlier books soon. Out of town right now and not getting a ton of reading time so no Dead Speak until I get back in a week (unless that task comes up!)[We could also do the Magic Emporium series because they are not connected so every book in the series is a stand-alone by a different author and most are on KU.]
I should get my Sam Burns book read the day after tomorrow(?)
Lorene wrote: "even if we don't do magic emporium, I highly reccomend Must Love Demons!"Ah I loved that one and even bought a physical copy!! I need to read the short In Fair Verona that started the whole thing.
I'm down with it, but I'm not sure it will count....we'll have to ask.I'm not familiar with the rules in this group, but normally challenges say that the books would have to be listed like
(Magic Emporium #1)
(Magic Emporium #2)
But the aren't.
I'll pose the question though, and if it's okay, that would be a very good choice.
Skye Blue ☆*~゚ლ(´ڡ`ლ)~*☆ wrote: "If we get the okay,I like hitmen so
Brought to Light sounds right up my ally."
I really enjoyed that one too. It was actually the first I read of the series and his magic emporium item was quite the helpful tool. Hexes and Horns (I think it was called) & The Muffin Man are my other faves so far (besides Must Love Demons and Brought to Light).
And Geoffrey the Very Strange, and Purgatory Playhouse… okay maybe I just loved most of the series that I have read so far.

What a sweet book. I’m not sure how much it followed the story line of the folk tale (since the cat hunting for gifts for the king was changed to the cat granting gifts/permissions to the homeless man instead), but it was still a interesting and sweet tale. This author continues to be a favorite of mine.
Ok team I’m am kinda struggling with service up here and on a mobile so I can’t quite check us in right now. Sorry!!
Getting ready. The task that requires you to read a book recommended to you by a teammate.
I recommend
The Cardigans hooked on this series. KU I don't concider it dark...but some might. so for those who steer far away from dark I recommend

Here is your next task!Task 3 - 6. Read 4 books with fewer than 500 reviews.
Books qualifying for this task need to have fewer than 500 reviews (not ratings). You can find this information on the main book page under the title. Please include the number of reviews in your completion posts. If your selected book might have over 500 reviews before the task is completed, i.e. it is a newer book or has over 490 reviews already, a screen shot might be advisable.
I'm having a bit of a toss-up between a few books. I will finish the book I'm currently reading today and then choose whatever fits my mood best this evening!
Nice. The book I’m planning to read after the one I’m on only has 93 reviews. Good thing it wasn’t ratings. I has almost 800 ratings
