Hi friends, it's time to start submitting your nominations for our Horror Aficionados October 2021 Group Read. Fall is almost upon us, so let’s pick something wickedly scary to read together.

There is no general theme, I want you to pick the creepiest, scariest book you can think of. Personally I’m looking for books that feature dark and atmospheric libraries, shadowy chasms or sepulchers for this October. If it was up to me it would be Halloween every day, so let’s make this months read extra special. 🎃

Books read in the group within the past four years are ineligible. Link to previous reads:
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Authors or Publishers may not nominate their own works.
The Shining by Stephen King is also ineligible. Just kidding, maybe.

Books with the most nominations, seconds, thirds, etc., have a better chance of making it to the final poll.

Let’s get to it!
💀

* Nominations will be up till 9/21/21.

LTJ (ltj81) | 2000 comments I'm going off what I see is popular from my friends here on Goodreads as I just got back into reading daily a few months ago...

My Heart Is a Chainsaw

For my pick since I have personal friends who said it scared the hell out of them...

House of Leaves

Ahh I really want to read that bad boy, I started 3 times, maybe 4th will be the charm.. think the timing wasn't right, I did like the book and it was getting eerie as heck even by page 80.

message 42: by LTJ (new)

LTJ (ltj81) | 2000 comments LoL oh boy, yeah, it's going to be interesting to see what four books win. I'm going to try with it being October and all, OUR month, to read all four books that ultimately get picked to join in on all discussions. I'm excited!

message 43: by Kasia (new)

Kasia (kasia_s) | 4513 comments Mod
Well it's going to be the 2 top choices that get the most votes but honestly reading along with you guys is the biggest treat. Collectively sharing a story and chatting about it is so, so great.

message 44: by LTJ (new)

LTJ (ltj81) | 2000 comments Oh awesome, that's perfect then! LoL I can definitely do 2 for sure besides trying to get through my regular Kindle Library. I also love the engagement and discussions around the books we read in those threads, very immersive and I've learned a lot already from different perspectives/point of views.
