Lee Phoebe | 1 comments I remember I read this book six or five years ago? I think the novel series are published before 2016, but the series are quite contemporary, the publish year might not be earlier than 2000. The story is about a girl in a very majestic city, I believe, it's a great empire. The girl had a fairly beautiful mother, who was the favorite daughter of the king. However, ever since she fell in love with a handsome peasant, her father had denounced her and banished her away from the palace. She gave birth to the protagonist, and not before long, passed away, if my memory serves me right. I don't remember what exactly happens to her father, but I think he died of grieve after her decease. I guess, the king finally forgave her mother and her father, since they all died, so he brought the protagonist back to the palace and let her grew up in the palace, though he doesn't fancy her. She, unlike her mother, is not pretty. She manages to survive, and there is a custom in the country that when a girl grows up, when they reach 16 or so, they will have to spar with boys. Kind of barbarian, if she loses the match with boys, she will have to let the boy "take advantage of her", at length, she loses the spar and then a boy raped her, she gets irritated, but let him do so, afterwards, kills him with a dagger. She won the match, and the story starts to shift to a vary incomprehensible and mysterious tales. I think it has two lines, one is the relationship between the god of night and chaos and the protagonist. The other is the relationship between the god of sun and a beautiful blind woman. In the book the god of night and chaos is a transmutable god, it has many forms, a handsome man, a woman, It has a beautiful set of planets miniature. And the sun god, i believe, had been departed from his thorn by someone, and then find the blind woman who is vending beside the road.
This book gave me shadow when I was a kid, but now I eager to know the title of this book, so that I can understand what exactly I've read. And how this novel based upon. I wonder the series are heavily impacted by Cthulhu Mythos. I think this is the only way to cure my trauma back then. Please help me find the title of this book. Hundred thanks to those willing to stay 'till the end of the essay. (Sorry for the probably poor writing, I'm not a native speaker.)
