Someone is killing fae by ripping their hearts out of their bodies, and the Troika, or the three supernatural "owners" of Pet, are investigating, but to her annoyance she is being left out of it. So Pet goes investigating on her own until she gets into so much trouble they are forced to bring her in.

This book was not as fast-paced as the ones that came before, and I didn't like very much that it ended on a cliffhanger that did not resolve the issues, but read more like a part 1 with a part 2 coming up. It was still good, but for this one I give it 3.5 stars, and round down.
