You Be The Detective type book (I dont think its called You Be The Detective)

There was a book I read back in I think early 90s, it was a collection of short mystery cases where you could try and solve the case yourself based on the clues given in the story. I don't think the book is "You Be The Detective" by Marvin Miller because I don't believe it had just 7 cases in it.

I do remember that one of the cases involved a bar and a server saying they tested two drinks to determine which was root beer and which was sasparilla by tasting them. And the correct answer the book gives you says you cant tell the difference between them by taste.

Did you rule out all the other books by Marvin Miller, like You Be the Jury?

It's possible, though I don't remember if you were supposed to be on a jury in it. After checking into it that doesn't seem to be the book either since it doesn't have the case I mentioned in it. Could be another one by that author though.

Pretty sure its not that one, I don't believe the one I read had any images in it, it was all clues hidden in the story.

I'm sure I've read this. Was it for adults or children? Perhaps one of the T*A*C*K books? (Also by Marvin Miller)
