I'm 10% into Witch's Heart and loving it so far :D I'm getting my first Covid jab today so I'm not too sure how the weekend's going to go :/ I was hoping to have a good reading one, but doesn't seem like it. We'll see

Dannii Elle (danniiellereads) | 9967 comments Sorry, Maddie. I'm making you work hard today lol. My net is still down so I'm adding all my reviews now I'm in a coffee shop. I have two more to go :)

That's alright! Hopefully enough to push us over the edge! It's okay, I've got time and they're really quick to update :D

Thank you :) I'm done now. If my net isn't back up over the weekend then I'll come back to the coffee shop on Monday and update for the weekend then :)

It's so cute that you go to the coffee shop <3

Still 4 points behind Rectangle, but my book's 16 points at least, and I'll be finishing up in the morning, so should be back in the lead by tomorrow. Also plan on starting and finishing Four Winds as I've got the audio too, expecting a cry-fest for sure!

It keeps me sane to get out of the house, after working from home for so long lol.

I have two more books to post, which I'll get to in the next hour... as I'm back at a coffeeshop lol.

Yeah that's true. I don't mind being home all the time haha.

I'm 32% into Ninth House, liking it so much more than I initially was and thank gosh for it, I have a signed copy and it's the only Bardugo I haven't read. I was worried I wasn't going to like it, but it's good :D It's been intimidating me for years, big pages small font, she a beast

I was worried about it too but ended up really enjoying it. I can't wait for the sequel!

Yes! Hopefully I won't need to re-read before it, but we'll see, I am reading a book every two days this rate. I'm just glad it's making more sense and everything's settling, and it's fast-paced :D Just the opposite of what I thought, everyone said it was slow and confusing!

Yeah it didn't have the best initial reviews. Maybe everyone was expecting a story more like her other books. I found it really fast-paced and thrilling too. A book every two days is an awesome reading rate too!!

My fam have all gone on holidays and, without the net, the only thing for me to do all weekend is to readddd :)

How do you still not have Internet? That's wiiiild.

Yeah it is :D Lockdown means no extra-curricular. And I'm really getting back into the reading groove, although I'll regret it when I can't remember anything that happened in the books lol. I'm on my 7th book this month.

I agree, I'm loving it, so happy with the turnaround. Going to hop into bed now and read for a lil bit before bed. Night!

message 163: by lj ♡ (new)

lj ♡ | 177 comments I'm all caught up on reviews, and finished a MG book this morning - it was really good! time to finally start Children of Blood and Bone :)

Nice work!

I'm 30 pages off Ninth House, and then I'll see what I'm reading next! Hopefully Vow so Bold and Deadly, Defy the Night or White Hot Kiss!

message 165: by Dannii (new)

Dannii Elle (danniiellereads) | 9967 comments STILL NO INTERNET :(((

I've not been reading too much. I have an interview tomorrow and they've asked me to create a portfolio of my work and brush on my non-existent adobe skills lol. All my time has been going there but it is scheduled in for tomorrow evening so should have some free time before I hear back to catch up with my BRs :)

Oh dang you got this Dannii! That sounds stressful!

I'm still only 63% into Even the Darkest Stars, not sure when I'll finish that. I'm really into my games now, but I will be participating in the 24hr Magical Readathon this weekend. Should get a few finished up.

Lockdown has been extended another week, so that's good for my reading and gaming, but shitty for work. I really hate wfh with my new job because no proper training

message 167: by lj ♡ (new)

lj ♡ | 177 comments I need to review a shortish YA book and am a teeny bit into Children of Blood and Bone. It's super intriguing and the worldbuilding is incredible!

Vanessa Gayle ⚔️ Fangirl Faction (fangirlfaction) | 3795 comments I posted four reviews over the last five days. Still trying to get back to normal after being sick. I am still not feeling great but I have been listening to audiobooks. I am trying to catch up on buddy reads right now. I've started several so that means I'll probably be finishing a bunch of books all at the same time in the next week instead of having one finished every day or two.

That is crazy! My internet never goes out for more than a day. I would be going through withdrawal. =P I'm so addicted. I think that everyone is, really. Internet isn't something that most people can live without in this day and age.

Who's hosting your readathon? I love participating in those. I haven't done any in a while.

It's for the G's Magical Readathon over on booktube.

I finished Even the Darkest Stars, I said I was going to pick up EotV but I'm saving that to read it fully during my 24 hours! So I'm going to try and finish Kingdom of the Wicked before then (although I doubt it)

Yeah it has really sucked! I work from home too so it has been so inconvenient and I'm almost out of data for the month on my phone. I'm in my boyfriend's now so will have net for the next few days.

message 179: by [deleted user] (new)

I am still listening The Fellowship of the Ring (The Lord of the Rings, #1) by J.R.R. Tolkien , I'm halfway through that, and will be picking up Kingdom of the Wicked (Kingdom of the Wicked, #1) by Kerri Maniscalco since I have been trying to get to it since last month, and it's almost due at the library.

Dannii Elle (danniiellereads) | 9967 comments Hope you're all having a great weekend :) I've hardly read all week but am in the reading mood so hopefully I can get through a few reads, over the next two days. I have a few reviews to write so I'll get them done and then work on finishing off some of my current reads - The Adventures of Tom Bombadil and Other Verses from the Red Book by J.R.R. Tolkien , I'll Never Be Young Again by Daphne du Maurier , The Chime Seekers by Ross Montgomery , A Universe of Wishes A We Need Diverse Books Anthology by Dhonielle Clayton , and Empire of the Vampire (Empire of the Vampire, #1) by Jay Kristoff
