Sorry Tech, might be me being dim but I don't see the currency reference in the title.

Pleased that was the stereo mix of the original 1964 version of Tobacco Road. The subsequent re-recording was a limp lettuce by comparison.

A lovely bright dry warm Sunny Sunday evening to you all. Looks like we are actually getting that 'mini' heatwave after all.....a few weeks late! Better late than never.Okay then......which cool cats got fat on the creamy stuff then?
Quite a few to climb on to the non existent straining podium this week...starting with a duo tied at 15 points apiece for the top spot, they are:
King Of The Barley by Jackie Leven, nominated by Val & Tobacco Road by Nashville Teens, nominated by some lanky Welsh guy.
Congrats to us both. A solitary 2nd placer come sin the form of Warm The Nation by Fish, Goat And Suffurah, which scored 12 points, so Tech takes the 2nd step...and finally another tie......
...inseparable at 9 points apiece, joint 3rd placers are;
Dope For Guns by The Ruts, nominated by Tim & Rune by Noveller, nominated by Nick.
Well done to all of us especially to Val.....it's been a while hasn't it Val?! ;-) Nice choice.
And the wooden stirry thingies remain in their dusty box for this week too.

Theme 311 - Andy Capp? Not likely! Let's be havin' your songs or artists that rhyme with Andy (2 syllables only - "Handy Man" is okay, "Candyman" is not). Bring out your Mandys, Sandys, Candys, Brandys, Randys or even Moe Bandy - and Andy on it's own is okay too. - Val
Theme 312 - Vice Squad - song titles containing one or more of the seven deadly sins: pride, greed, wrath, envy, lust, gluttony and sloth or the word sin(s) - Helen
Theme 313 - Slide It In - any track featuring slide or pedal steel guitar, or any stringed instrument where the fretting is done with an object such as bottleneck, socket wrench (Lowell George), Coricidin bottle (Duane Allman), item of cutlery, etc. - Brass Neck
Theme 314 - XYZ - Any track with a title that begins with X, Y or Z - Fishy Jim
Theme 315 - "Poetry in Poultry" - Songs titles featuring any of the of the genus Galloanserae: e.g. Chicken, Turkey, Duck, Goose, Quail, Partridge, Guinea Fowl, Pigeon/Dove (Squab), Pheasant, Peafowl, Mute Swan & less common but also inc. Emus, Ostrich & Rhea. In singular or plural & multiple breeds acceptable. - DaDukester
Theme 316 - Devil or Angel (Part Two) or both - Jemma
Theme 317 - UK minus England - Tracks by bands or artists from Northern Ireland, Scotland or Wales (bands can have other nationalities in their ranks, as long as the majority are from one of the three home countries).
Theme 318 - O.G.W.T. (resurrection special) - song must be accompanied with clip from o.g.w.t. - dynamic introductions by whimpering Bob Harris permissible, but not really encouraged! - tech

Greetings folks.....hope you're all enjoying the late summer sunshine. I've been flat out in the garden, trying to get all of this year's project done, before i go on holiday at the beginning of October. I've finally finished the decking 're-configuration'..now back to the path.
Okay then, we turn to TheFoe and his theme, which is as follows:
'Songs that contain objects/items used as currency in the title, new or old. '
I presume standard currency isn't what Nick had in mind....so i guess it's alternative stuff that folks trade with is the object of this theme? I'm sure Nick will clarify......but until then, your noms and links in the usual fashion if you please.
Cheers! :)
