Biswayan Nath | 2 comments I read these books in 2012-15. I don't remember much about the story except that it was about a boy who somehow travelled to a parallel universe where people use magic instead of science, and consider science to be just a legend. The boy brings a compass with him which still functions in the parallel world. At the end of the trilogy, the "link" which connected the two worlds got destroyed, and the boy, his female love interest, and a magical carpet (which could talk and was one of his friends from the parallel world) got split into two copies, and each trio got trapped in one of the two worlds. Magic stopped working in our world and science stopped working in the parallel world. Also, the first paragraph of the last two chapters were the same. The 2nd last chapter was about the trio which got stuck in our world, and the last chapter was about the trio which got stuck in the parallel world.
