My favorite fantasy series include Malazan (obviously), Farseer books, and Greatcoats. I frequently have giant differences of opinions than everyone else on things - like I didn't like the new GGK book Children of Earth and Sky, I hate Kruppe and Karsa from Malazan, and I hated both Book of the New Sun and Dark Tower. However, I do enjoy a good discussion about things, even when I'm on the minority end of things.
Feel free to friend me.

I could say I prefer space operas and epic fantasy but the truth is I'll give anything a chance. I recently finished Richard Kadrey's Sandman Slim urban fantasy series and enjoyed its pulpy fun; before that I bounced between Gene Wolfe, Terry Pratchett, and Guy Gavriel Kay for a bit. I just finished listening to a dramatic re-reading of Richard Howard's Conan short story "The Temple of the Elephant." Today I started N.K. Jemisin's The Fifth Season. Most of my "reading" lately is done through audiobooks so please feel free to recommend any that you've particularly enjoyed.
Some of my current favorite authors are Neil Gaiman, Ann Leckie, R.A. Salvatore, Iain M. Banks, V.E. Schwab, Jim Butcher, Brandon Sanderson, Becky Chambers, and Michael R. Fletcher. And even though you didn't ask here are two recommendations: Chambers' The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet and Fletcher's Beyond Redemption.

Favorite reads include Dragonriders of Pern, Discworld novels, Temeraire and the occasional recommendation I get.

but feel free to add me as a friend.

Anyway, I've been a lurker on reddit and just recently started posting on /r/Fantasy . You guys seem like a great bunch of people so I saw the link for the book club and here I am! Add me as a friend on here or reddit!

I mostly browse reddit. When I comment or post, it's usually about my husband's new book, Liefdom: A Tale from Perilisc. I'm trying to get the word out without being too pushy about it. He's been writing for years, and trying to get an agent, and he finally decided to jump into the endeavor of self-publishing. He has an intricate world and a ton of stories to share. I truly believe in his work. It speaks for itself. I'm really excited about it because I can see all the things he has coming up. Watching it unfold from the beginning is going to be thrilling.

I love fantasy and I use it as an escape. I tend to /r/kingkillerchronicle and /r/leagueoflegends but I am going to look into /r/fantasy more now!

I love to read, across many genres, but fantasy is definately my favourite. Looking at all the posts so far, I have a lot of catching up to do with my books!!

I'm currently teaching English over in China and I had been looking for a bookgroup to join. I'm a big fan of reading and discussing, I am a bit of a beginner to fantasy (/r/fantasy led me to discover Robin Hobb who I'm now a huge fan of) but I look forward to discussing the books with you guys.
I'm really into science fiction, literary fiction, horror fiction, and fantasy fiction. I also love music and I'm a big movie buff. I look forward to our discussions!

Looking forward to the read along.

I'm /u/OddnessWeirdness. I have always read mostly fantasy up until the "Everything Is (not that great) Urban Fantasy Now" early-ish 2000s. I've been trying to get back into the genre in the past few years, and have recently read a few really great ones (like the new "Fitz and The Fool"s by Robin Hobb and "Shadowshaper" by Daniel Jose Older).
I rarely comment on r/Fantasy but have been lurking looking for recs for not-the-norm books, especially if they arent $9.99 for the ebook (insert extra sad emoji face here). I'd love to chat about books, so feel free to hit me up here or there. :)

Im u/esmerelda-weatherwax !!
Your neighborhood discworld fanatic.

I don't really do favorites, but if I had to narrow it down, I'd say favorite book series include basically anything by Robin Hobb & Brandon Sanderson, as well as the Lightbringer series by Brent Weeks.
I don't really do book assignments very well, but I'd like to give the monthly reading group a shot to expand my reading selection. I also tend to miss quite a bit on my first read through, so I am hoping I can get a more complete impression of each book through the discussion posts.
I've started Senlin Ascends a few weeks ago and have been loving it. See you all in the discussions threads!

Hi, I'm [redacted] on Reddit. I'm terrible about keeping up with any kind of book clubs, but I do like reading a lot. Right now I'm attempting to get through the /r/Fantasy bingo challenge--2.5 months to read 10 more books.

I'm very glad to have finally gotten off my arse and joined in the fun over here! I'm /u/jeramygobleauthor over on Reddit. I'm an author, composer, husband, and technology nut. Looking forward to taking part in the club!

Feel free to add me as a friend if you want.
Thanks!

Anyways, I'm /u/yettibeats on /r/fantasy. From time to time I'll comment, mostly recommending the same books over and over again...*cough* Smiler's Fair *cough*.
Since listening to audiobooks at work I've been able to really get through my tbr list. My reviews are usually short, quick thoughts upon finishing. Cheers!

I love speculative fiction with a contemporary aspect, (urban) fantasy, scifi and similar.
