What are you reading?
I just got steered in another direction and will have to postpone this book for a couple of weeks but I will let you know once I get to it.
Tomorrow I will start Anne of Avonlea by L.M. Montgomery (a reread) and Ikigai: Giving every day meaning and joy by Yukari Mitsuhashi.

I love the concept of Ikigai! Although that's the conflict I am having currently. My ikigai is To Love and under that comes caring, comforting, healing, etc. Being in healthcare is where I belong and because of work trauma, I feel as though I no longer can do it and I'm lost to myself and my purpose.
That quickly became a downer of a conversation when I really started off being excited for you! You will enjoy that book!!

I just finished Reminders of Him by Colleen Hoover. I kept seeing it being recommended so I gave in! It was okay. I don't think I'll have any lasting thoughts on it but it was nice to have an easy read...helps me keep up my reading momentum!

I started A Court of Mist and Fury. I chose to read it in English, to aid in improving my language skills and learn some new words. The first book captured my interest so much I am looking forward to this second one in the series.

technically I haven't read anything new much lately. I just finished my comfort book, The Midnight Library by Matt Haig. But I am eyeing a new book that was just released this week, Just a Monster, I think it is by Vanessa Len.
I am still reading Anne of Avonlea by L.M. Montgomery and Lady Susan by Jane Austen. Both rereads. :)

Just finished reading Three Dark Crowns series by Kendare BlakeI may purchase and reread later. I really liked it, and of course I love YA, so it was really good. Now I am on a search for another to start. So far all the ones I want to read are already checked out so I have to wait.

On my way to the library to pick this book up, I think. I can't remember now which one is ready but it's one of the two for our monthly book.
I just finished The Last Cuentista. It kept me up late last night!
I am almost finished reading another middle-grade book: You Go First by Erin Entrada Kelly. I am really enjoying it and can relate to each of the main characters.
I'm currently reading A Court of Mist and Fury, the second part of the Thorns and Roses trilogy by Sarah Maas. Still love the characters, the world building, even more so than in part 1. It's a chuncky book, so I can take my time to savour it.

I borrowed this series from my sister and kept them aside to read while staying with my parents, but my daughter saw them and thinking they were mine, she packed them. Now they are in Missouri and I'm stuck in Maryland. I hear amazing reviews about this book.

/Hi Jennifer! I'm going to go against all the rave reviews and say that it was...okay.
I wasn't emotionally invested in any of the characters, they all felt a bit two dimensional and I didn't feel any connection in the relationships. So this meant the more "emotional" parts of the book were lost on me.
I also found the reveal at the end to be extremely underwhelming.
I did find it easy to read and it was still somewhat enjoyable....there was just no depth.
Sorry I know that's going to be controversial because this book seems to get A LOT of hype.

Haha, I love it. I tease and say my sister is the favorite. My parents hate that but I'm not upset. It takes all the pressure off and I can be wild without guilt.

I'm reading this middle grade book: The Aurora County All-Stars, this self-help book: Your Inner Will: Finding Personal Strength in Critical Times and this music book: Bending the Blues: Compact Reference Library. Try as I may to read one book at a time, I always end up gathering more books around me to read all at once. Oh well, I guess I should accept that this is how I do it, lol!

Well, I am halfway through the book and loving it!!! I can see it being on my reread list.

This sounds like a great read. It reminds me of Octavia Butler's Parable of the Sower -- at least in description. ^_^ I'm curious to know how you like it!
