Emilie-Mey (emiliemey) | 2 comments I read this book between the years of 2013-2015 and I had borrowed it from the library (hardback). The story was set in India but I can’t really recall the time period (it might have been early 1900s but I’m not 100% sure).

*Spoilers Ahead*

It followed the lives of three Indian orphans (two boys and one girl, if I remember correctly) who would often play in an abandoned train station. I can’t remember much about the actual plot but at some point, the protagonist (one of the orphan boys) discovers he has magical powers and I believe that this attracts the antagonist, a dark magic lord of some sort who has been trying to capture the orphan boy throughout the whole book. There is a big battle in the end and the orphan boy defeats the dark lord.

To summarise, here are the things I’m sure of:
- The children were orphans
- The story is set in India
- Trains/train stations are significant in the story
- At least one child has magical powers
- An evil dark magic lord tries to kill the children

I don’t really recall the book cover but I know if it saw it again, I would recognise it. I’m not sure of the author’s gender. I’ve thought about this book and how intriguing it was ever since I read it and it drives me insane that I can’t find it anywhere! I really hope someone can help! Thanks!
