Steven Mayotte | 2 comments I am looking for a collection of short stories, young adult horror, where the first story is about a young boy on a beach. He kills a seagull with something (I believe it was a bow and arrow), and feels guilty about it. Shortly after, he starts being watched by the other seagulls on the beach, and then chased by them - I believe it ends with them cornering him in a shed or beach house of some sort.
Another story that I remember with far less vivid detail involved a boy finding himself in a dark house, where a large man was scaring him, though I can't remember why.

I know this isn't much to go on, but I'm at my wits' end trying to remember this book. I don't remember it being very thick, and read it when I was a child (Around 1985/1986 or so). I would greatly appreciate any help!

Thank you,

~S~

Becca (beccalikesbooks) | 5553 comments The Haunted Planet by D.J. Arneson and Tony Tallarico? The first story is called 'The Haunted Gull', and one reviewer describes it like so: "a boy playing with his bow and arrows on the beach seems to accidentally kill a seagull, and is stalked by the rest of the (possibly undead) flock, who attack him in his bedroom at night, and running to his parents for help, discovers the birds have gotten there first".

Becca, I could kiss you.
Thank you SO much - you have no idea how much this has been driving me insane, and no matter how I searched, I could not locate it.

Book successfully found and question answered - thank you again!
