Eragon was pretty obvious in the way that he asked about the dragons. And I’m kind of curious how Brom knows so much about dragons. Other than that I’m actually not completely caught up in the story yet. Hopefully that will come soon.

I was surprised that Eragon knew magic without ever having learnt it. And I’m somehow wary on Eragon’s behalf as to why Brom simply won’t tell where he learnt all this. What’s the risk in telling something that already happened.

I like the werecat a lot! Maybe it’s just his personality or the fact that he’s a cat who can talk, and I like cats. The prediction was a bit more boring, I knew beforehand that Eragon probably wouldn’t receive some lifechanging information or so.

I skipped a whole part with the updates because in the middle I got into a bit of a reading slump and didn’t really record anything…

I’m curious as to how well the battle will be described. At this point I’m mostly just struggling to finish the book, but maybe the ending will provide some more excitement.

Yess, I finally finished it! I know that I definitely won’t read the sequel. I can kind of understand how some people like it and it is objectively a great story. But it didn’t really work for me. Maybe it’s because I didn’t feel a whole lot of empathy towards Eragon and didn’t really care that much about the story, or maybe the writing didn’t move me. I nearly never had a point in the story where I was completely absorbed in the book and that made it a rather hard and long book to read.

I was rather confused over how many years this book covered. At times I felt it was only a couple of years at the most but the baby Eragon cursed by accident was a very angry adult latter in the book. Eragon considers himself pretty dam good at most things but to me he came across as a know it all teenager. (hide spoiler)]
