I think that’s because this series is so incredibly long, a lot of set up is needed, but it was still a bit much. I don’t trust the twins, I think they betrayed the Varden. I really like Angela and Solumbun, so let’s hope there’s lots more of them in the next book! (hide spoiler)]

Agreed! I think they might become suspicious about him leaving and possibly even think he had something to dow with Garrow's death!

Also, I think that Bran might've been a rider himself. It seems unlikely, but where else would he get all the knowledge? Or maybe one of his ancestors was a rider? (hide spoiler)]

My first thought with the urgals was maybe their leader is the empire?? I don’t know it seems right, but THANK goodness eragon was able to make it out. What did you think about the witch reading his fate? I first thought maybe the “love” was Saphira but maybe it’s the lady trapped in prison? And about the witch reading his fate, I wasn't sure about the 'love'. I can't see Eragon and Saphira romantically in love (platonically yes). And my first thought about the woman in prison was that it was his mom, It might be a love interest though. (hide spoiler)]

Oh, I enjoyed the book overall, (view spoiler)[ I liked Arya, she's a strong character and I'm hoping she is a more significant character in book 2. I'm also very happy with Saphira's character. The book presents dragons and dragon riding in a whole new perspective. And of course the continuous curiosity of the secrets make it more engaging. (hide spoiler)]

I haven't read many dragon books or dragons riding books, but I have read some (when I was younger) and they usually presented flying as exciting and easy. But in Eragon (view spoiler)[ Him bleeding without a saddle was a really big surprise, because it makes sense, you know? Needing a saddle to ride, but we don't usually think about it that way, we usually focus on the magical part. (hide spoiler)] I haven't read Fourth wing either!

It was (view spoiler)[when Eragon first used his magic. He called out Brisinger to have the fire come forth. So after the magic was explained, I'm guessing that he gets more and more advanced with magic and that's part of it? Or... fire at least has a big part in that one. (hide spoiler)]

Definitely agree with this. Currently 46% in (view spoiler)[so finally the the reason for why Brom was hiding things, but I certainly feel like all of that should have come to light sooner. I mean Eragon is already in this mess and has been from the moment that Saphira hatched so I'm in that torn bit of I kinda see the point to not worrying him further but also just tell him!
