YA Fantasy book series about a magic school and the way that school was founded. Spoilers ahead.

This is a book series I read around 2011-2012. One of the books was about a girl enrolling in a magic school, one of the side characters was a girl who could see the future. The other book was a prequel about 2 boys and the event that leads to the magic school founding.

I read the books in Romanian at the time however it was for sure a translation. I believe the books were originally published in English but I do not remember enough to be sure.

In the series there were ways to travel to parallel worlds I believe. The girl that could see the future eventually leaves to live in a world where time flows backwards. The main character learns a magic where she could create such a world herself and needs to pay constant attention to it so it would not fall apart.

In the prequel one of the boys has a magic in which he can revive someone in exchange for his own life, which he does and the magic school is named after him.
