SOLVED. YA Dystopian / SciFi trilogy about children going to a factory and then to an island where they play group sports with protective headgear and no ball [s]

In the first volume the children go to work at a factory with a strange set up.
In the second volume they go to an island where they play a groupsport with protectiv headgear. They do not play with a ball but use each other as the ball (?).
In the third volume they flee from the island.
Request by a customer at the library. She listened to the audio and there was a child in protective headgear on the cover, holding their head with their hands. Sadly I do not know the land of origin or anything else.

A real life friend found the solution for me: the trilogy is called Méto and written by Yves Grevet. It was originally published in French and translated to German, and I do not know if an English translation exists.
