YA Dystopia. Controlled society, people assigned numbers & talk like a collective group saying "We" not "I". Male main character likes a girl assigned job as child bearer. From high school reading list. Read in 2009.

I was suppose to read this one book in High School (2009).
All I really remember from it is there was some type of controlled society. The characters would talk as if they were a collective group saying "We" instead of "I". They would each be given a number they were referred to as. The higher ups of the society would give appoint them their life long job.
The main character was a guy, and he liked this girl who was chosen for the job as a child bearer.
I'm sorry it's not much but it is all I can remember.
