SOLVED. YA Horror, Middle school boys do hopscotch in a forest to summon a demon. [s]

It was a book about a middle school aged boy who lived in a small town near a forest (might've been somewhere on the east coast usa?) who's brother when he was younger was killed by a demon/devil/forest creature thing(?) that you summoned by doing this hopscotch type thing on a rock path in the forest and the hopscotch had a like form of that one 'one for sorrow, two for joy' poem but going up to number 12 and each one was like 'one for pain' or '4 for drowning' or something like that and the 12th one was 12 for death so when you reached it you died but if you hopped off before reaching it you got afflicted by whatever number you were on like for example the drowning one. The main character befriends another boy his age and they try to go find his missing brother (i Think its been a while). I don't remember the exact year i read it but it was probably around 2012-2014 maybe? coulda been earlier than that but no later than 2016 probably. The inside cover had the story's version of the 'one for -, two for -' poem on it im pretty sure. I do not remember how it ended.
Random scenes I remember:
-the boys search an abandoned house and come across a room where a corpse was hanging(?) but it was an illusion maybe? also there might've been bugs in that scene too
-main character gets seperated from his friend in an abandoned lot when he goes into a like secret cellar thing in the ground and almost gets stuck for supernatural reasons? something like that
If anyone knows what this is please tell me i've been searchin for it for years,,,,,
