I am just wondering, are you participating in the youtube read-a-thons? I am participating in a way, I plan on reading more Space Opera this month than I normally would have. I want to read Revelation Space by Alastair Reynolds. I'm not sure how many other books I will be able to read this month.
I just finished a short story by one of my favorite Space Opera authors: Sharon Lee and Steve Miller who have written the Liaden series, which is plain addicting.
I've read three books for Space Opera September and I plan to read a fourth. I've tried once to hear Revelation Space but somehow gave up.

My reading is okay i had a few that I finished this month from last month. I don’t read science fiction so can’t help out.

I'm doing pretty good with this readathon but I have several DNF. If it doesn't grab my attention in the first couple of chapters, I put it aside. And I need feel-good stories right now. If it's depressing at all, forget it.
I can't recommend any Sci-Fi books but I highly recommend David Rosenfelt's latest book in his Andy Carpenter series. Dog Eat Dog is a legal mystery that keeps you laughing all the way through.

Hi all, I just wanted to make sure everyone saw this. It is also in the general section in the Moderators announcements (last post)Goodreads made a default change to every person's account, and if you would like to continue receiving messages from groups (such as our newsletters ), you must go change your setting.
On the desktop:
Click your picture on the top right of the toolbar, then go to Account Settings. From there, click the Settings tab.
Scroll a bit down, and you will see this setting:
Who Can Send Me Private Messages:
anyone just my friends
Change it to "anyone".
Without doing this many people won't get newsletters or any other notifications unless they happen to be a GR "friend" of the moderators.
However if you don't want to make a change to your profile. You can ask the moderators to be your friend, post a question in the Ask the Mods thread in the general section, or just keep an eye on the updates, the newest newsletters and announcements.
