Its a more modern book i dont remember when exactly it took place. A women burst into the middle of a vampire counsel meeting (i believe she is human at this point) and begs that one of the vampire's protect her one agrees and it surpises everyone. She moves into the vampire house and ends up protecting it from demon dogs or something along the line so as a way of thanks she gets granted a magic power from the head vampire. Also, she learns to fight and ends up becoming like one of the best fighters in the house.
I know there is a murder mystery aspect people are killing vampires in the house so she helps to solve who and it ends up being the people who deliver bagged blood every day
The romance is between her and the head vampire dude. in one scene she pushes him into a pool
