No worries, Jamie :) I can update anything on the SS if it is needed :)

Dannii Elle (danniiellereads) | 9914 comments Woohoo, time to get reading :) I'm excited for this challenge.

Btw, the bonus fairy thread is now open. If we could all post a comment on there it will increase our chances of having a random bonus added to kick us off

Book_Fairy (book_confessions_of_a_fangirl) | 449 comments I am sorry that I am late to responding here, but it I was waiting to figure out what team I was, and it didn't tell in the main thread, but super excited for another challenge.

message 57: by Dannii (new)

Dannii Elle (danniiellereads) | 9914 comments Hey @BookFairy, just letting you know that you can only claim points for the pages you read in August and not the full page count of the book as they were all started in July. You can't claim letters for partially read books either.

message 58: by [deleted user] (new)

Hey guys I finished The Bromance Book Club (Bromance Book Club, #1) by Lyssa Kay Adams Shadow of the Fox (Shadow of the Fox, #1) by Julie Kagawa , I haven't posted it yet... Im gonna go to sleep now... I posted it in the to be posted part of the spreadsheet, wasn't sure what letters I should take.

Feel free to move mine from the SS if you want to claim any of the letters 😊 Only one has been claimed on the review thread so far as Book_Fairy's posts unfortunately won't count as they were started before August.

Jamie | 12272 comments *Reminder to always use the highest page count, regardless the edition you read (exclusions for ibooks, etc may apply but we or mods can help each other when that happens)* If you don't know how or are short on time and need help, please ask here! It is worth it to do so before posting so they aren't scored at a lesser value!

Most of us know this but it almost is always missed by someone so it is worth the reminder IMO. :)

message 61: by Jamie (new)

Jamie | 12272 comments If anyone has time to post Cinthia books great, any open letters seem to work. :) T & O work quick just based off the titles... Or whereever. If not, I can add them for her late 'tonight.'

message 62: by Jamie (new)

Jamie | 12272 comments Great start so far! I got a better dent into mine than I expected!

madelyn (madelynnn) | 23 comments Hey! So sorry for the late check-in, I've been dealing with a bunch of stuff recently and haven't gotten around to it, but here are some books I'll be hoping to read. School starting back up for me and I'm just getting out of a slump, so I'm super sorry if I don't read a bunch of books this month :)

Rule of Wolves (King of Scars, #2) by Leigh Bardugo All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr A Court of Silver Flames (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #4) by Sarah J. Maas The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett House of Earth and Blood (Crescent City #1) by Sarah J. Maas This Is Where It Ends by Marieke Nijkamp A Darker Shade of Magic (Shades of Magic, #1) by V.E. Schwab A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini The Darkest Minds (The Darkest Minds, #1) by Alexandra Bracken

I'll probably deviate form this list quite a bit tho haha

Glad to hear you had such a great start :) Mine was a little slower than anticipated but I've got two books completed so far (both BRs) and have a free day ahead of me in which I only plan to read :)

Sorry to hear you've been dealing with so much, madelyn :( I hope this month is as stress-free as possible for you.

message 66: by [deleted user] (new)

ok guys doing my reviews now... just got up from sleep... dang... not shift kills me and I sleep a lot on my days off... lol

message 67: by [deleted user] (new)

Posting done... I am determined to finish White is for Witching by Helen Oyeyemi today... I'm already 50 pages in and it's not super interesting to me...

message 68: by Jamie (new)

Jamie | 12272 comments Sorry Cinthia! I meant to get those up for you!

message 69: by [deleted user] (new)

it's cool. I just didn't know what letters to claim.and trident want to step on anyone's toes lol. thanks.

message 70: by Dannii (new)

Dannii Elle (danniiellereads) | 9914 comments Honestly don't worry about stepping on toes if they are mine :) I've put all the books I'm planning on reviewing and completing today on the SS but anyone can feel free to nudge them out of the way if they finish anything first :)

message 71: by [deleted user] (new)

ok. cool. thx.

I kinda took over the board and didn't realise until after. Oops. Lol!

message 73: by Jamie (new)

Jamie | 12272 comments Hopefully no one is too worried about toe stepping. It should be easy enough for someone to help find a new letter at the worst. Lots of options.

Dannii Elle (danniiellereads) | 9914 comments Jamie wrote: "Hopefully no one is too worried about toe stepping. It should be easy enough for someone to help find a new letter at the worst. Lots of options."

I totally agree :) If we all work together it'll make it far easier for us to have a shot of winning this challenge :)

message 75: by Dannii (new)

Dannii Elle (danniiellereads) | 9914 comments Just letters S and K left to complete on the first board, which I'm hopeful of getting done tonight unless anyone else has anything to post first :)

message 76: by Book_Fairy (new)

Book_Fairy (book_confessions_of_a_fangirl) | 449 comments Hey I am slightly confused....so, are we putting the letters in individually or together as a team?

message 77: by Dannii (new)

Dannii Elle (danniiellereads) | 9914 comments Book_Fairy wrote: "Hey I am slightly confused....so, are we putting the letters in individually or together as a team?"

As a team :) There's a spreadsheet here to see what has been claimed/read and what letters are left for each title we need to fill -

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...

message 78: by Book_Fairy (new)

Book_Fairy (book_confessions_of_a_fangirl) | 449 comments Thank you so much and sorry for the confusion, this one just confused me a lot.

message 79: by [deleted user] (new)

ok so now Im confused. We can pick any letter on the title of the book or author? it doesn't have to be the first letter of each word?

message 80: by Dannii (new)

Dannii Elle (danniiellereads) | 9914 comments @Book_Fairy No worries :) It does take some getting used to. Also a heads up that you can claim any edition of the book to get the highest page count, not just the one you read from, for all books started and finished in August. I hope it's okay that I updated the two full books you read this month to claim the highest page count.

@Cinthia We can claim any letter in the title, author, series name, illustrator's name, translator's name, narrator's name, and in any other language edition as long as it still uses English letters.

message 81: by [deleted user] (new)

ahhh I see thanks for explaining it.

message 82: by Jamie (new)

Jamie | 12272 comments Good catch on those page counts, Dannii!

It is good! I love the different species. Each book is a bit of it's own story so it really lets you dive into the world.

Question? Since the first board is done, can we start using letters for next board or do we have to wait for Sarah or one of the MODs to tally?

If your team has posted reviews which will complete your active board, but scores haven't yet been done, you are welcome to start posting for your next board, which will be at the top of the 'NEXT BOARDS' list on your team review thread. ^_^

message 95: by [deleted user] (new)

cool. I will post my reviews later. going to watch some friends and then post, my laptop is charging now lol.

Hey :) It's going good here. I just woke up and have my coffee and book next to me ready to get some reading in. How are you?

message 97: by Dannii (new)

Dannii Elle (danniiellereads) | 9914 comments Yay! We're already on board two :) That's amazing, team!

message 98: by Dannii (new)

Dannii Elle (danniiellereads) | 9914 comments Hey, @Book_Fairy. I think you may need to add some of your books together to claim a letter. In the reviews it states that to claim a letter the books must be:

- YA, NA, Adult, Non-fiction books (without illustrations) - 200 pages.
- Middle-grade/children's books (without illustrations) - 300 pages.
- Manga, graphic novels, plays, poetry, books written in verse, anything with some illustrations - 600 pages.

I think the Reese Witherspoon book has illustrations, and maybe the classics too, unless I'm wrong? Unless Alice was also illustrated, you could maybe combine messages 31 and 32 together to claim a letter, as the page count would be high enough between them both? :)

message 99: by Dannii (last edited Aug 03, 2021 12:50PM) (new)

Dannii Elle (danniiellereads) | 9914 comments So, after the last update the letters we need to complete the second board are - E, C, F, T, P. R

Once Book_Fairy adds details to the Inkheart review we can claim the letter A :)

I should have three books completed tomorrow that will cover letters F, P, and R unless anyone else finishes their books first :)

message 100: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (last edited Aug 03, 2021 10:20PM) (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments I finally finished my book! It took me several days so hopefully I'll start to read faster now.

I did start my first full book already. I can't tell percentages as it's 3 books in 1.

I'll try to write the review for the page points only one in the next few days.
