Iulian | 4 comments This description is all I remember from the book.

Spoilers ahead.

There was a young boy that moved in with his parents into a new home, in a rural area. They bought a house up a hill, that resembled a fort with stone walls and small windows. On the way, they hit a dog with the car, and the dog with the face torn up jumps at the window filling it with blood and scaring the boy.
As soon as they visited the neighborhood, they saw that they all had metal grills at their windows, and everyone kept telling them that they should leave and go back from where they came.
During the night, the boy saw a glowing light inside the house, and all the furniture was flowing.
Upon further inspection of the house, he found a room hidden behind a thick metal door that had claw markings on it. Inside there were items that indicated that children had taken shelter in that chamber.
As the days pass, he noticed that his parents are behaving weirdly and at one point they even run outside naked, like animals.
While exploring the areas near the house, the boy finds a strange totem and encounters other children that attack him on sight. Realizing that he’s not a threat to them, they tell him that his house used to be a fort, where the soldiers took refuge while attacking the natives. The house’s walls were made with a strange rock that fell from the sky and made the soldiers act strange and gave them supernatural powers. Also, all their wounds would heal up during the night and they could only be killed with silver.
During the night, his parents transform into wolf-like beings and the boy has to take shelter in the room he found earlier.
In the morning, they act as if nothing ever happened, not recalling any of the events from the night before.
The boy, with the help of his new friends, manages to set up a trap in which his parents get caught during the night and suffer gruesome wounds, but in the morning they are healed completely.
After being attacked by them, he eventually shoots them with silver bullets that he received from the other kids and kills them. At the end of the book, we see him injured, bedbound, and being taken care of by his grandmother, which is judging him for his actions. While tending to his wounds, she shoves a Bible in his mouth so he can bite on it.

Thank you.

Is the boy a teenager or a younger child?

Iulian | 4 comments I read it in 2013 or 2014.

The child was something between 10 and 13 years old.

Iulian, what's the genre (which we need to add to the header/ topic title) - e.g., for teens or adults? horror, fantasy?

How far into the book does he realize his parents can turn into werewolves? I removed this from the header as it sounds like a spoiler?

I added a few details to the header. Feel free to edit it.

Iulian | 4 comments Hello,

Thank you for the edit.
The genre is fantasy / science-fiction, as the reading is for teens.
Regarding the werewolves, I`m not sure that were werewolves because the kid described them as "creatures like wolves" or "creatures resembling wolves" so my mind goes to werewolves.
But he realizes his parents turn into those creatures somewhere in the middle of the book.

Thanks for helping with editing the header/ topic title.
I just wanted to add the detail you suggested but i receive this message: "The page you requested doesn't exist. Please check the url again, or visit the home page."
Can you add what is missing?

Thank you.

You're welcome. I added genre to the header. The "Page Not Found" error message actually means the header you're trying to save is too long. It's a common problem.

It is a way to attract more people to this tread ( viewers) in means to resolve this post?
I don't want to double post or spam with multiple threads (is not ok) or maybe can you recommend other sites or threads ?
Thank you.

Please note: You can bump your thread 30+ days after the last comment in the thread, because this group is so large. If you remember new details, you can add them at any time.

I'd suggest posting your request in other Goodreads Groups that specialize in YA Fantasy or Science Fiction. Here's a list of popular groups: https://www.goodreads.com/group/popular
