I was really hoping for the Swenson -- I like her better than a lot of others as well. All three picks look good! Thank you!

LaurLa, thank you! I love the Wine and Dine series and have been looking forward to reading South of the Buttonwood Tree. I read another of Heather Webbers stand alone books earlier this year, Midnight at the Blackbird Café by Heather Webber and I think it’s been my favorite book this year!

I will have to look into A Bad Day for Sorry (Bad Day, #1) by Sophie Littlefield as I’ve never read any of Sophie Littlefield’s books.

Thanks for the great picks. I'd actually forgotten about Becoming Marie Antoinette being on my to-read list until now, so that's kind of a double bonus. ^_^

For your regular picks, I went with Love in the Light (Hearts in Darkness, #2) by Laura Kaye and Dixie Divas (Dixie Divas #1) by Virginia Brown . I haven't read anything on your bonus, so I went for the one I'd most likely want to read, The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend by Katarina Bivald . Hope you enjoy 'em all. ^_^

Crossroads of Bones (Katie Bishop, #1) by Luanne Bennett

Book - Crossroads of Bones
Author - Luanne Bennett
Date - 8/8/21
Rating 3 Stars

Review - Book 1 of the Katie Bishop Series. Katie is a dragon shifter who own her own tattoo shop. Along with Katie are her co-workers Abel, Sea Bass, and Mouse. Her newish boyfriend Jackson hunter, her bff Sugar, and an elite paranormal society that needs her help when she unknowingly unleashes a rogue god by tattooing a symbol on the back of the body it inhibited.

It's a fun, light weight start to an urban fantasy series. I gave it 3 stars because honestly it was ok. There was nothing overly exciting about the story. It was good, although the ending was a bit ho-hum. I'll keep reading though because it's a good story.

Scourged (The Iron Druid Chronicles, #9) by Kevin Hearne

Book - Scourged
Author - Kevin Hearne
Date Read - 8/23/21
Rating - 3 Stars
Review - This was the last book in the Iron Druid Series. I'd give the entire series about a 3. The first 4 books were awesome. Then the time line is skipped about 12 years and Granuille enters the books and that is when my ratings went down. I hated that character with a passion. I can't exactly put a finger on it, but she annoyed the heck out of me. The last book is when Atticus has to face all the crappy things he has been responsible for. Granuille adds insult to injury and kicks him when he's down. It was a bit of a sad ending, but I do understand why it had to happen.

I finished my three Connie, and liked them all, including The Senator's Wife by Sue Miller . I seem to see a lot of polarized opinions about her books. But the ones I've read I've liked. Thanks for the picks!

message 75: by Diane ~Firefly~ (new)

Diane ~Firefly~ | 461 comments Oleander, thanks again for my picks. I finished both of them.

A Bad Day for Sunshine (Sunshine Vicram, #1) by Darynda Jones Werewolf in Alaska (Wild About You, #5) by Vicki Lewis Thompson

Danielle Gypsy Soul (afdaniellet) | 1928 comments Finished the two choices but didn't get to the bonus.

Goodbye Paradise - Amazing - 5 star book!
The One That Got Away - yeah this one didn't work for me - 2 stars
