I've long been an admirer of Raphael's work, but everything I read about him made him sound so boring -- he's so nice, he's so charming, he's so PERFECT -- so I assumed there wasn't a good story there... Then, it dawned on me: NO ONE IS THAT PERFECT... History, perhaps, wants us to believe he was this paragon of goodness, but reality tells us differently: every human and EVERY artist struggles and hurts and strives and wins and fails... LIFE is a struggle... “A drop of ocean water had the ambition to rise high into the air. So, with the help of fire, it rose as vapor, but when it flew so high that the air turned cold, it froze and fell from the sky as rain.
