I stated earlier about prompt 76, unless you already finished a book for that prompt then go ahead and take it.

Hey, it's okay!! I didn't put my name on it so it's still free game. The same goes for everyone, if you finish a book ahead of me that fits the category with my name, go ahead and let me know and change it!! :)

I can try! It's not that long and if I just sit and read it, I should be able to finish it! I can start reading it right now

Andrea | 18 comments Sorry guys it was a very busy week for me. I have routine procedures every three months. They were Wed. I’m pretty recovered now.

I can see everything on the spreadsheet.

I’ve finished Ella Enchanted and will listen to 2 audiobooks today.

Prompt 52 and 55. It will be books 4 and 5 of the Whatever After series and will close out #11 A Tale As Old As Time.

message 57: by Andrea (new)

Andrea | 18 comments I added my name to a few more prompts. I own most of the Whatever After series. They are short, I like them and fill some prompts.

Awesome! Sal and Gabi Break the Universe is interesting though Im disappointed by all the not kid friendly tv and movie refrenses and the spanish not explained in english. Could have had a glossary of what all the spanish scentences mean in the back.

Aeriell Castleman | 204 comments I know currently, I am trying to figure out which ones of my books will fit stuff.
Here is the known middle-grade series I own that I have currently with me:

Disney Descendants Isle of the Lost series by Melissa De La Cruz
Ever After High series by Shannon Hale
Wings of Fire series by Tui T. Sutherland
Shark wars sereis by E.J. Altbacker

Prompt 38 A book with a character who works abroad - I believe The red pyramid Kane Chronicles book 1 fits Sadie lives in London and Carter her brother travels all over the world with their Egyptologist dad.

31 A book from the perspective of a villian - Isle if the lost fits this prompt since its about a Villians kids who are mini villians or 32 for any book in the Descendants series good vs evil is the focus and is also the focus of star wars

123 protagonist lives with a group of unrelated kids - Ever After High series boarding school

Do you mean prompt 19 or is there another prompt for abroad? Also 31, yeah I guess since they are the kids of villains that would work

Aeriell Castleman | 204 comments Update:
We are so close to closing out groups 11 and 16! Also, with group 4 we have one prompt left open. Group 8 has two prompts left open. The ones I have marked in those groups will be read soon! If we have books to fill those slots that is 4 groups knocked out!

Aeriell Castleman | 204 comments So it’s been brought up to my attention is that:
1.When imputing the date, make sure it’s in the British format,Apprently not everyone has been using that format. I’m going to go through and see what is not put in correctly and fix it but make sure y’all get it in correctly.
2.Who has prompt 55? Kadi says as she sees is the dates and no book title
3.When putting an author in,use the authors name.
I thought and looked at the sheet and it looked all fine to me but apprently not. I will be taking a look!

message 69: by Andrea (new)

Andrea | 18 comments I have 55. The title is there. Tap on it if you don’t see it then click view comment.

Sorry, I completely missed the instructions about English format.

The FBI is part of the government so yes they would be like a secret agent

Aeriell Castleman | 204 comments Kadi brought up something in the captians chat:
Who is up for her adding 50 more tasks onto the list? She mentioned how she dosen't want everyone to finish all the tasks before the end of the month and adding some more tasks would give us more plans for things because who knows what these would be. We are still currently in second place!! (Go us!)

What do you guys think? Would you guys want more tasks to be added? It might help yall with other books that couldn't fit these prompts. She said they will add them on the 15th with the bonus ones if we want these 50 more tasks.

I think the flexibility of adding more tasks would be very helpful. The downside is that so far only 3 of us on our team have recorded books as read. 50 more tasks is a lot for 3 people in two weeks. It will be tough for us either way to complete every task.

I don’t think I can keep up this pace until the end of the month. It will probably be 3 books a week for me. I’m okay with whatever the Captains and Kadi decide.

message 74: by Aeriell (new)

Aeriell Castleman | 204 comments I understand that, I feel as it might fit in more books that some of the others have that don't maybe fit all these prompts and could also not be reading as fast as others are. If these prompts get more access to more of the books then it might be more help

AurorainBookland | 749 comments Deeksha wrote: "A book with a main character as a horse -Prompt 73

Black Beauty unabridged by Sewell, Anna it has to be this version since its the only MG version but it's a sad book trigger warning animal abuse. I havent read it and dont plan to.

Black Beauty - however, according to https://www.arbookfind.com/default.aspx some books are MG and others are LG.

Any Spy Kids book by Lenhard, Elizabeth

I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have to Kill You (Gallagher Girls, #1) by Ally Carter Main character is a spy in training and her mom is a spy its MG+ and might get graphic (a part mentions torture thats when I DNFed it years ago)

Hey Team Merlin,

I just wanted to pop in and say well done on all your hard work and fantastic team work! I hope you’re all enjoying some great books!

You can now find the 12 bonus tasks on your team’s spreadsheet. I’ve added clarifications about some of the tasks on the Task Guidance sheet so please make sure you check that out too.
If you have any questions about the tasks please put them to your team captain to bring to me!

Reminder of how points are awarded for the bonus tasks:
- The first 5 tasks are worth 3 points each and the last 7 tasks are worth 5 points each.
- Completing the first 5 tasks will give your team 10 extra points and completing the last 7 tasks will give your team 15 extra points.
- There are no extra points for having just one member complete the tasks!

Aeriell Castleman | 204 comments Deeksha, the book for bonus prompt number 6 will not count because:
Also guys I completely forgot to say: only books started on or after 15th August can count towards the bonus tasks! (Quote from kadi)

Your book was started on the 9th

message 90: by Aeriell (new)

Aeriell Castleman | 204 comments Okay, because I saw Norse gods on there at one point and I was just confused. Also on my end there is no reasons filled in for some books that are finished.

message 91: by Andrea (new)

Andrea | 18 comments I would like to listen to Interview with the Robot by Lee Bacon for prompt 68, but I’m not sure if it qualifies for the challenge. It’s audio only so no book formats. Length wise it would be about 170 pages.

Does it qualify if there is no book format?

AurorainBookland | 749 comments I finished Can you see me? By Libby Scott & Rebecca Westcott it was great and only had two things in ut that I found problimatic and you can read my minor spoiler review to see those points.

The spreadsheet only lets me put in comments.

I start the review with a non spilor review/statement

Libby Scott is an autistic girl and advocate and this book was wonderfully written and I think everyone who is or knows someone who's autistic or who works with kids, teachers, doctors etc should read this and continue to listen to and get their information about being autistic from autistic people. The hashtag red instead and the series ask an autistic by Amythest Schaber on YouTube are great places to start.
