Ron com soul searching vibe British novel about a masseuse! I think she’s looking for her birth mother?

I cannot for the life of me remember this book- I remember the main character is a female and she’s a masseuse, I think she’s looking for her birth mother and doesn’t find her and I remember a bit about joining a water aerobics class and she doesn’t realise that it’s for pregnant women but she makes a good friend there anyway who I think is pregnant and single and is a bit kooky? And I remember one specific scene... she meets a guy in the story who’s a massage client and she later on cooks at his house and wants to know if the oil is hot enough and tries to spit in the pan to test it and accidentally spits too much and he sees! It’s definitely 90s- 2000s because I read it when I was a teenager. Definitely think it’s a British author, it’s very lisa Jewell vibes. The boyfriend is zoroastrian? I’m not 100% about the adoption sub plot I don’t know if I’m combining two stories there but I think it is the same book! I used to read it all the time and I cannot remember the name of the main character or the novel and it’s driving me mad! Any help much appreciated!
