Spoilers ahead!!! I can't remember the main character's(MC) name but she starts staying at a nearby bed and breakfast and dating one of the firefighters named Lincoln or Linc for short. He has problems with another firefighter named Jack. Jack starts dating MC's best friend whose name also starts with a J(Jenny maybe?). Someone is trying to kill the MC and it turns out to be her stepmother who hates her. It's for insurance money I think. Also, Linc and Jack turn out to be half brothers. The book is pre-2008. I think the cover has Linc holding MC but it was a bit faded and I read it like 10 years ago.
