SOLVED. YA (?) Paranormal novel about a girl with two souls in one body, one coming out in the day and the other at night, at a boarding school or college and at the beginning of each chapter there is a countdown to a fire. [s]

Read late 2010s. The main character(s) were two souls in one body, but one came out at day and the other at night and they had no recollections of the other's memories. They would communicate with each other using notes (sticky notes?) but one of them, probably the daytime one, disappears at some point. The book probably takes place at a college or boarding school. The 'daytime' personality also had a lot of friends, whereas I believe the 'nighttime' personality might only have had one or two. Each chapter contained a countdown of days until a fire consumes the school. I believe at some point a character also cuts out their tongue for some reason and feeds it to a snake (?) That could just be faulty memory, though, as I mostly skimmed the book at the time. I think that the cover (Maybe not on all editions, but on the one I had) contained a girl staring out from the front of the book in a somewhat disconcerting manner.
