That’s not it.. but thanks!I remember waiting a long time for the sequel and then just kinda gave up. Maybe it’s not exactly a children’s book but not quite YA either.. kinda tween maybe?

This book came up searching middle grade mystery novel "art teacher" "escaped convict":Anna Smudge: Professional Shrink by Mac. It was published in 2008. According to Goodreads there are three books in The Professionals Series!
