I work at a library and a patron came in trying to find a book she had checked out a couple of years ago. She knows it was YA and probably sci-fi but she doesn't remember the title or author. Here's what she gave me:

• set slightly in the future
• the mc has a roommate and goes to a school that her late mother went to
• the school is either a cult or secret society
• the book ends with her meeting someone in a coffee shop

She doesn't really remember the cover but said it looked "clearly sci-fi."
