Kim Searle | 2 comments I read this book in the early 90's (it was given to me by a friend) but it was the first in a series and was written in the 60's or 70's. I believe the cover was green and had one if not two people walking through a mirror by some hills with a city in the distance.

The main character is an apprentice learning how to create mirrors with magic that allow them to view or travel to other locations (same planet). I remember a scene where the main character is escaping from the castle in the main city with a women and are running through tunnels to get to the mirror that will transport them to safety and away from the ensuing war.

The author may have been a woman, but I am not sure. It is not a main stream author. Any help would be great.

Thank you

Sylvi Shayl | 8 comments This sounds somewhat like Stephen Donaldson's Mirror of Her Dreams (Mordant's Need Book 1).

Kim Searle | 2 comments No sadly it isnt. If i am remembering correctly the region feels more desert plains. The main character is male.

kim, can people time travel using these mirrors? Does part of the story take place in modern times?

How does the main character become an apprentice? Who and where are his parents?

Is this book for teens or adults?

I added some details to the header/ topic title. Feel free to edit it.
