Book cover us blue or green with animations of the different characters on it and one character is holding a sword. Read the book in 2012 or 2013. No adult themes, very kid friendly, but a harder read that would be enjoyable for almost anybody .

Could it be the League of Princes series? The second one has a green cover with characters holding swords: The Hero's Guide to Storming the Castle
