OMG! This is the book! Thank you! You helped me solve a decade's old mystery! I was beginning to think it wasn't real! My memory was a little off but this is it. I'm crying tears of joy! Wish I could find a copy so I could read it again!

Title: I though it was titled "My soul to take" but can't find it by that title.
The story is about a girl who gets in an accident and her soul is ejected from her body. She becomes a ghost. Only her friend (a guy) can hear her. I forgot how the cat is used in the book. There's also a demon preventing her from re-entering her body and she has to play and win a game against it to get her body and life back.
