I read the book sometime during the last couple of years. The book is centered on a heroine who is goth/emo and not very popular. She has a few good friends but they are outsiders at school. She has a rivalry with the popular girl at school. A new boy starts at their school (she ends up being romantically involved with him). One day she wakes up and suddenly she and her friends are the popular kids in school and her rival is not. She has to deal with her sudden popularity and I think she starts to change for the worse until the boy helps her see that the way she's behaving isn't nice.
