I'm also going to read this! Read lots of good reviews about it and it has also been on my to-read list for a long time!
Well, I am 143 pages in and considering giving up on it. I find myself almost dreading reading. That doesn't happen often.
I'm starting this one tonight, I hope it has improved for you, I've just finished one that was like that, the kind where you find yourself actually doing dishes because that is more interesting. LOL

I did finish it, but it wasn't an easy read. I thought it was funny at some times but I also found it confusing and hard to keep track with.
I have put myself on a schedule. I MUST read 48 pages a day then I can move on to something else. (: I will be done (finally) tomorrow. The second half is definitely easier to read than the first half. But I am still not looking forward to it, and I can't read all of my 48 pages in one sitting. It takes 3-4.
This is one of those books I could not finish. It was too much of a struggle to get through. I admire those of you that persevere through it.
Tip if you're struggling: Read chapter 22 first. It'll make the characters easier to understand.I guess this book's not for everyone, but I really liked it. It has such a haunting message about war, but it's covered in this weird humor.
Thanks for the tip, Ana. I was in the middle of chapter 21 when I read it. Oh, well. I finished the book yesterday. It will not go down in history as one of my favorite books, but I did get his message about war and human nature.

That combined with it being a "classic" that I have never read makes it a winner for this week.
