I'm trying to find a book that I read probably in the mid-2000s (it seemed like a new book at the time I read it). I remember the cover being white or light grey with some sort of deer or deer head or skull on it. What I can remember of the plot is that it was about two sisters (set in current day) and this group of people from some sort of society comes and basically says that they believe one of the sisters is essentially the chosen one. I remember there being a male love interest who was part of this society.

Then it turns out that the protagonist is actually the one who is more powerful or something like that. I also remember the end of the book being when they're trying to get out of the house where they're staying because something is outside (though this could be completely wrong).

They're teens, so highschool age I believe.
