Question 9 from the Reading Guide is one of my favorites. Julien says Mélanie went undercover as the perfect wife and is just coming up for air. Do you agree with him? What are the implications for her relationship with Malcolm?

Kimberly Thorpe | 237 comments I agree with Julien. Now with the truth about her completely in the open, I think her relationship with Malcolm is stronger. She is now living a life that is truly hers with Malcolm's encouragement. I think it is truly an equal partnership where both understand that they will not always agree, but will always support each other. That partnership and support will be needed between Malcolm & Suzanne as they work to defeat the League and AR.

Diane (dideo74) | 61 comments I agree with Kimberly. Mélanie and Malcolm’s marriage is stronger than ever, and Mélanie is becoming more herself with Malcolm supporting her and she supports him in his work. And, of course, they work together on their investigations.

I agree with Julien too. I think Mélanie and Malcolm and the reader are still learning who Mélanie really is or is developing into, without being undercover. So far she and Malcolm and their marriage are evolving in a very supportive way. But I do think the evolution will continue.
