YA book read approximately between 2009-2013 where a princess from a small mountainous mining kingdom goes to a long ball event in to vie for a prince’s hand. Main character unknowingly befriends and begins to love prince who she believes is a scribe. One of the princesses (possibly named Karin) is supposedly abducted by another prince and so main character and other princesses go to rescue her to find out she went willingly. Main character is taken captive instead because of rich kingdom. Finds out she has an affinity for magic through the singing stone. Scribe prince and main character are made to wait a few years before marrying.
