► UNSOLVED: One specific book > YA potentially historical fiction/ fantasy where main character is a spy of sorts and uses the victorian secret language of flowers to pass messages to her contacts. She would have been given a book as a gift to use as a reference

Mitchel Ann | 1 comments i read the book 1- 3 years ago and i dont remember much about it anymore except that the MC is a girl/woman who was already fairly familiar with the secret language of flowers and she becomes a spy/informant of sorts and she's then gifted a book with more flowers and their meanings and she uses them to pass messages. i believe she might have been a spy for a queen?
i thought it might have been a dance of thieves but i dont think it is.
i dont remember much else except it was set in a victorian-esque era

Kim | 11 comments hello Mitchel ! I honestly don't think this is the book you're looking for but reading your comment made me think of The Case of the Bizarre Bouquets, that I read years ago. it's about Enola Holmes, Sherlock's sister, she's not a spy but more like a detective and in this book she uses the language of flowers to resolve a mystery. and also the victorian-esque era matches.
