Hello all you lovely people!
So 15 years ago I read a book and for the life of me I can not recall the title of it.
I would say that the book came out in the late 90's or early 200's. I was 13 when I read it.
I know that the cover is black/deep red and has the outline/half covered in shadowed face of a vampire, male, looking up.
The book is about vampires, and is very erotic and gory. There is lots of graphic sex and violence in it. It starts in an apartment where the main antagonist is watching his "mate" writher on the bed in pain as she transforms into a vampire. His apartment is attacked by other vampires with katanas, he flees by jumping into the canal where he is mauled by alligators and supposedly dead.

The woman is spared. Jump forward, there's a scene where her and her boyfriend/human meet up with another couple at a restaurant. The woman in that relationship is also a vampire.

Antagonist also takes advantage of a woman in her car before being shot by police.

To sum up, the antagonist is also still alive and is seeking his mate, all the while gathering other vampires to join him in an all out assault. The two main chicks end up going full vampire mode and killing some bad vampires. There's a scene where the antagonist kills a hooker after very aggresive sex.

I'm pretty sure it's written by a male...I though the author had a T in his name.....

any help would be much appreciated, its been bugging me for years!!
