Who doesn't love a great movie adaption of their favorite read. Is there any that you think is ripe for a great movie adaptation? Or even past due for one?

Two that I would like to see made into movies:
Summer of Night by Dan Simmons
The Infected trilogy by Scott Sigler
Summer of Night by Dan Simmons
The Infected trilogy by Scott Sigler
There are two Marvel properties which could make for interesting TV series, Tomb of Dracula: The Complete Collection Vol. 1 and Werewolf By Night: The Complete Collection, Vol. 1. Both could make for great mature streaming content, if Disney had them produced by Fox.

Basketful of Heads by Joe Hill would make an awesome movie!"I liked Locke & Key a lot even if it was family friendly. I never read the series though.

They are working on another Blade series or movie. Not the same, I know.
Well I don't have horror either, but I have a dark fantasy series that would make great movies or even a series on Netflix. The action and thrills are movie material. :)
A Subtle Agency by Graeme Rodaughan
Bruce wrote: "I agree about Tomb of Dracula. They should use it to introduce Blade."I imagine it playing out across multiple time frames as the characters are looking for a MacGuffin.
1.) The current time with Frank Drake, Ms. Harker, and company
2.) Vlad's conversion to Dracula
3.) Drac's reign
4.) Mina and the gang
5.) Quincy Harker's adventures
The current time frame begins with Drake accidentally reviving Drac, and the other time frames could be used as episodes to reveal the underlying mystery. It would allow fun episodes like Quincy Harker facing vampires in the trenches of the Somme or Messines Ridge.
Would it be conceited to mention my own book, Mostly Dead? Several of the people I know who have read it say they can visualize it as a cinematic thing. Who knows.
Carlton Mellick III's Apeshit.
I think it is one of the more accessible bizarro novellas (are there any bizarro movies around, anyway?) and would make a nice splatterpunk comedy.

I like Locke & Key too. Basketful of Heads is a lot shorter, only 6 issues, and much more violent :D

I agree with Summer of Night
Jason wrote: "Ghostland"Ghostland would make an excellent movie or Netflix series if given a longer treatment.
Brian Lumley's Necroscope. Harry Keogh's tale in first 5 books of the saga could have been just one of best sci-fi/horror franchises ever.
Such a shame it never happened.

Necroscope would make a great series on Netflix.

Yes it would!
I'd love to see Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles be made into a tv show. There are whispers about this again and again, but nothing substantial seems to be happening. In the right hands, this could be pure gold.
I read The Ceremonies last month and thought the novel might just be perfect for a movie adaptation. Is Armin Mueller-Stahl still available for Rosie's role?
I think " The Haunted Forrest Tour" by James A. Moore & Jeff Strand would make an outstanding Film in the right hands. Maybe James Wan. Or even better, a Limited run series of 8 - 10 episodes to really do the book justice.https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...
Fragment by Warren Fahy This is easilly a great book about an newly undiscovered island containing new found fantastic and incredibly dangerous creatures not meant to be on this earth. But what if...?
This would make a great horror/sci-fi film or even better series.

Oh yes, when I read it the movie was already rolling in my head haha.

I found it a very disturbing horror, which is good. It just seems to resemble a Walmart or something similar

Speaks the Nightbird is said to be in development for a series. It was be a masterpiece if handled right.
Eric LaRocca's Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke. Gives me Cam vibes, just way more grotesque.
I'm hoping the Book of Accidents. Without spoiling anything, there are situations where characters are drastically different from their original selves (from the beginning or how they were introduced). It would be cool to see actors have to contort themselves to be different variations of their first appearance on screen. I love movies that can show an actor's range like that.

I really enjoyed that book, and I agree that they could do some really cool stuff if they made a movie from it.

I would love to see Jonathan Maberry's Joe Ledger books adapted for the screen.
Dani wrote: "Eric LaRocca's Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke. Gives me Cam vibes, just way more grotesque."I have that book on hold at the library.
Rachel Caine's Weather Warden series. Book 1 Ill Wind ; starts it all out. https://rachelcaine.com/wp-content/up...
A series of books about an organization that can magically control the weather would be perfect for a Prime or Netflix series. This is an incredibly good urban fantasy series.
Grave Witch series by Kalayna Price. A seven book urban fantasy series that I really didnt want to end. Its a near perfect series of the human world and Faye world living side by side. A woman with Powers to raise a shade from a dead body for information. A cast of characters you care about and abventures that just pull you in.
Perfect for a Prime series.

Gone South would make an amazing miniseries, Twin Peaks vibes. Boy's Life could be a great, magic cinema epic... I don't know why, but I imagine Taika Waititi as the director. Perhaps because Jojo Rabbit shows he is a good man for magic realism?
