I don't remember a whole lot but I'll write down what I remember.
The female main character was traveling in a sentient spaceship. They could communicate through their thoughts. I believe the cover art was of an alien-looking-like spaceship with long metal arms/tentacles.
I remember one (oddly specific) snippet of a scene. The girl had to enter a password for something. The spaceship was going to tell her but didn't want to so he/she/it 'spoke' really quickly. However, the girl was clever enough to take an audio recording of it and play it back slowly so she could understand it.
I remember another big scene where the spaceship came in contact with another spaceship and had a 'battle' with the main character's spaceship and demolished it (or at least severely injured).
I believe this may have been a book series by the author but I only read the first book. I think they were published from the late '00s to early/mid-'10s but I'm not entirely sure about that.
