Sounds like Cathy's Book by Sean Stewart. There have been a few different editions but this one has a blue cover:

The book was possible titled "Emily's Book" or "Emily's Diary." I tried searching it up in Google, but it yielded no results. The main character was most possible named Emily, and had a love interest who was older than her. He also had a thing where he couldn't age or was immortal - something to do with a lab. And by drawings, I mean like the sketches and not something like a graphic novel.
