MaddestOfCatters | 45 comments The son of a farmer in a world with a system and gods/great spirits that people can devote them self's to. The child of a farmer wishes for freedom and in search of it goes the the big city to live with a friend of his fathers. That I think was a mercenary or something. The boy spends his time leaning to run with the wind (might be literal I cant remember), learn the beauty of things both blatant and secret and the thrill of freedom. Secret things like changing art hidden in buildings or to find all the hidden wonders of the city. Witch as a quest or challenge of one of the gods or something.

The boy returns home to find his father unable to move on from the death of his mother and coped by devoting him self to a spirit/god of death and harvest. Letting him to raze up a working force for his farm.

Some where in the book the boy devotes him self to a spirit/god of freedom and or wind there may be knowledge in there to IDK.

read this like 2018-19 I think maybe as early as 2016. The book follows a majority of the boys life from when he is young. leaves for the city like 12-15 I think some where in there.

It focuses on the boys growth as a person and his finding and admiration of beauty. lots of beauty and natural wonder type themes.

it stands for RPG Literature it means that the book had elements of a game system such as the ability to quantify every character in number of ways. But in this book it manifests as a system every human has access to. The system will tell you of the history and quality of any object and will tell you things like affiliations or powers that a character has.

MaddestOfCatters, how is the structure of this RPG Literature book different from a typical fantasy novel? Are the characters aware of the game?

I added a few details to the header/ topic title. Feel free to edit it.

the system
A world governed normal physics with great spirits adding on a way to quantify yourself, the world, growth and achievements the system. It is also used as a way for the spirits to watch/interact with people and let them use magic. The people are both watched over and devote themselves to the great spirits that represent different things(such as a farmer devoting himself to a spirit of the cycle of life and death resulting in undead farm helpers) and alter the system the person used depending on there "god".

The small "edit" link appears after the header/ topic title only on the full Desktop website. If you're using the Mobile website, click the "Desktop version" link at the bottom of the page.

I am using the desktop version. When I click on the edit it will bring me to the edit web page and edit the header I click save and it brings me to the Page Not Found page.

The "Page Not Found" error actually means the header you're trying to save is too long. Yes, that is rather annoying.
