Dimtofu | 2 comments Only got to read the first book. I keep thinking the cover had a picture of a woman with long dark hair, wearing a red medieval-styled dress, or at least the color red really stood out to me. Could be that her face was not shown.

Protagonist had a mission she needed to complete after leaving the coven. I think she either had to kill a man or steal something by falsely gaining the target's trust, but felt like it was implied she would fall for him or he would fall for her.

I couldn't remember whether there was any magic for sure, but I feel like it is possible special pills/potions existed and were used. For sure, witches are NOT a thing in this world. But maybe this coven is misconstrued by the public as witches; however, it's a pretty secretive coven. I think the coven is even located on an isolated island or somewhere near a seacoast. I feel like it was often described that the main character wore a red dress. If not red, some dark color.

Idk if this was in the intro of the book, but I remember at one point, the heroine approached a man in a bar/tavern and they did some flirt talk while she had a different motive. At this point, she may have been wearing a green/red dress. Of freaking course, I keep remembering a passage describing her inner thoughts with a sentence saying something like this:

"All it takes is two orbs of flesh to..." blah blah and you get the gist of what it's saying about men here. It could be that it was worded as a question too though like "Why can't men resist what is only orbs of flesh?"; something like that. I just remember the word "orbs" was definitely used here.
