Deborah (dg_reads) | 418 comments I settled in with some embroidery (not super successfully) and finished up Master of One for 500+ pages.

I will start on All the Tides of Fate tomorrow as my next audio (I suspect it would work for fantastical creature because book one in the series did have some) and then see what I can pick up in print to fill any open prompts.

We have 40 rowboats lolol. Definitely the most productive team on the seas!

I'm going to finish One Two Three today.. not sure if I'll have time to start on another one today though. But I'm hoping to knock out a YA book tomorrow to finish the Read-a-Thon with 5 and the month with 9.

Roxana (luminate) | 775 comments Just finished Perfectly Parvin, by Olivia Abtahi, and put it under “author initials in PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN” on our second galleon! 👍🏽

I’m planning to read Fireheart Tiger next, which is only 112 pages so it’ll be a quick read this afternoon, and ideally it’ll turn out to have some kind of fantastical creature, but I don’t think it does 😂 also hoping to finish Rosaline Palmer Takes the Cake today, and The Luzhin Defense tomorrow, so that I’ll have read all 10 prompts on the individual challenge.

Deborah (dg_reads) | 418 comments I have started All the Tides of Fate on audio and I am about to start Havenfall in print. These will likely be my last two finished books for the weekend. Havenfall has gold foiling on the cover for the gold prompt and I'm thinking that Tides will have a fantastical creature or two along the way though not so far in the first 10%.

message 105: by Marin (new)

Marin (marinbeth) | 187 comments I finished Interstellar Pig and filled it in for fantastical creature, though there are other places it could go too. This was a harder week than I thought it would be, so my page counts are down. I'm hoping to do a lot of catching up today and tomorrow.

message 106: by Traci (new)

Traci (tracibartz) | 1275 comments I have two books in progress I'm hoping to finish this weekend.

I guess if we have unfinished boats, we have extra parts in case of a plundering out on the high seas!

message 107: by Roxana (new)

Roxana (luminate) | 775 comments I finished Fireheart Tiger and put it on standalone, the last prompt for our third sloop. Still planning to read Rosaline Palmer Takes the Cake and The Defense by the end of this readathon....and I might see if I can finish this audio of Sweethand, too. (It’s going faster than I expected, I just have less audiobook time than text book time this weekend.)

Unfortunately none of them have gold on the cover, or I’d finish that galleon! 😞

Chrissy | 1141 comments We finished a third galleon! I put Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir in for gold on the cover. It was a great story, too.

I've heard such good things about this book already! (And yay for gold on the cover!)

Roxana (luminate) | 775 comments I just finished Rosaline Palmer Takes the Cake and put it on our third schooner for "part of a series" (though so far it's the only book actually out, the series is planned). My next (and probably last?) book, The Luzhin Defense, will fit under 300 pages, if no one else gets there first. :)

Yes team! I'm so impressed with us. If anyone happens to read a short book today, we will finish the Read-a-Thon with 3 sloops, 3 schooners, 2 brigs, and 3 galleons! That's a huge fleet!

I finished One Two Three last night, and it was so, so good. Not surprising considering how much I loved This Is How It Always Is, but the stories are completely different.

I'm going to pick up a YA, I think, to hopefully finish before the month ends. Not sure it will get finished today, but hopefully by tomorrow.

Great work, team! And happy last day of the Read-ARRR-Thon!

Caitie | 144 comments I will finish Rich People Problems today and might be able to fit in Luster!

message 113: by RachelG. (new)

RachelG. What type of ship should we try and work on next?

Emily Bourque (emilyardoin) | 11196 comments Mod
Seems like a third brig would be the way to go?

message 115: by RachelG. (new)

RachelG. The book I am currently reading luckily fits at least one prompt for each ship and it would be nice to finish up with a set of 3 each style.

message 116: by Caitie (new)

Caitie | 144 comments finished Rich People Problems and put it in as a mostly green cover! starting Luster right now -it's quite short so might be able to finish today!

message 117: by Chrissy (new)

Chrissy | 1141 comments I will probably finish The Haunting of Tram Car 015 today, but I think it is too short to count for a prompt. I'll just add it to my page totals.

message 118: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 1585 comments I finished Midnight Sun but couldn't find anything fit in for Brig so put it under Schooner but also could fit a few of the Galleon choices. I have been trying to read The Plot but half the time I am considering DNFing so don't think I will finish it. I might see if one of my other books grabs my attention but at this point think I might just get some pages read in before the end of the read-a-thon.

message 119: by Deborah (new)

Deborah (dg_reads) | 418 comments I finished off All the Tides of Fate and put it in as and adventure story - there's pirates and setting off to sea so it was adventurous.

That is more than likely my final read - I need to make some progress on a couple things for buddy reads this week but won't be finishing anything else tonight.

Thank you all for the fun pirate-ey times! This has been great extra motivation this week and I wound up picking up more than I anticipated! This was a great way to (nearly) finish off May!

Accidentally finished Emergency Contact! I mean, I was hoping to finish it, but I completely devoured it and I'm surprised I read nearly 400 pages today.

Thanks for being an impressive team!

message 121: by Traci (new)

Traci (tracibartz) | 1275 comments I finished The Storyteller's Secret and put it in the prompt for 0 in the page number. It can be moved to medium length book if that's the better spot, it looks like books are in progress for both of these prompts.

I'll probably finish my audiobook tonight, but it doesn't fit either of these two prompts.

message 122: by RachelG. (new)

RachelG. Yotsuba &! 5 by Kiyohiko Azuma can go in the prompt for 0 in the page number if no one else takes the medium length book.

message 123: by Marin (last edited May 30, 2021 09:55PM) (new)

Marin (marinbeth) | 187 comments I added a couple books (I just realized the graphic novel I finished is too short to count towards ships. Sorry about that!) I finished today to the schooner tab -- I think that's where they have the best chance of contributing to another ship. I don't think I'm going to finish anything more tonight, though I might get some additional pages in.

This has been so much fun!

message 124: by Roxana (new)

Roxana (luminate) | 775 comments I just basically read up a storm tonight and now I'm finally off to bed, lol. Couldn't get that last brig prompt, my books tonight were all under 300 pages, but I couldn't bear leaving the schooner incomplete, at least! This has been a very fun readathon, as always, so thank you all! 🥰

message 126: by RachelG. (new)

RachelG. I sure had a good time! Thanks all!

Caitie | 144 comments didn't manage to finish Luster but added my pages from last night and now we have 61 rowboats! great reading with you all!
