Ell Eastwood (ellociraptor) | 14 comments Just finished it! I liked it as well. Okay, everyone immediately having a straight love interest is pretty lame, but other than that it has improved a lot from book one.

Though, with Cinder and Scarlet I can't really say how I pictured the characters, but with Cress it was very hard not to see Rapunzel from Tangled. Though I like that she cut her hair short and seemed to enjoy it.

Terpsgrl32 | 56 comments Cress's naivete started to grate me a little at the end, but Ell's Tangled reference makes a little more sense now. I didn't think about that before, but yea being locked up like that for most of your life will make you socially awkward/probably fall for the first man you see especially if you've built up this ideal in your head to keep from going crazy.

I really want the book about Winter to come out (I know she's been writing one, but I forget when that one comes out. Not Fairest, I think it's actually called Winter). She's all kinds of crazy & I really want to know why she stopped using her powers & how that's going to affect things with Scarlet & now Cinder/Erlander & I just want Cress to fully break out of that shell she was forced into by Levana.

Wow! I read all three of these when they came out (and am reading them again, waiting to get Cress from the library now!) and thought that was it. Did not realize she was writing another one- well I am glad this read happened and I'm refreshing my memory on them. It was a lot more enjoyable reading them with a bunch of folks, for sure.

Hana b (tzveyah) | 164 comments So I'm just finishing up cress now but I have to make this comment. I'm skimming. Quite a bit of this book. And it doesn't really make a difference. I feel as tho I'm just skipping over all the annoying bits. I rarely read like this, skipping almost whole chapters to get to the more interesting or less annoying/tedious parts. Bummer, man.

Jessica | 13 comments Late here, but I finished Cress about a week ago. I like these books the way I like after dinner mints. They're cute, enjoyable, and mostly forgettable. I'll be down to read Winter once my library gets it in.

Ribbon (ribbonquest) I finally am reading Cress now and it's my favorite. I picking Cress like Tangled's Rapunzel, but singing Let It Go at the top of her lungs like my four-year-old. She brings freshness to a mostly like-minded crew.

Crystal (cocoxcx) | 11 comments I agree Rachel, Cress is a much needed hacker and different perspective to the group. I also like how we got to see more of Captain Thorne, who reminds of another captain from Doctor Who the more I read about him ;)

Regan | 6 comments I really liked Cress' method of handling stress. I also appreciated the slight character development from -Thorne is so dreamy, be the hero to my damsel in distress- to something a bit more rational.

Sara G | 46 comments Just finished Cress - it was my favorite so far. I liked Cress's distinct voice, her fantasies, and her cleverness.
